La Perla and Agent Provocateur are OK

Awl4knot, I had a "Massey pre-nup".

You know, that's a work of fiction, don't ya? In any event, I am glad for you that were prudent enough to get one before you hit the alter. Who says lawyers don't do good things for their clients?

Some comments reminded me of a review in which the guy snarked about the escorts "cheap VS lingerie." There is a broad line between appreciating and denigrating the quality of a lady's lingerie. So are there many radical undies snobs among the high net worth shopping crowd? And how is this brand of snobbery manifested? Do they send out Hobby RFP's that specify La Perla and/or AP or is it just an understood thing? Originally Posted by awl4knot

Anyway, it's not like I'm *making* any of you guys care, lol. Just discussing a subject in which I'm very interested, and fairly well-versed. If a man had a taste for expensive cars, I wouldn't leap out to call him a car snob. Aficionado, perhaps.

I love lingerie
Awww, lingerie... It is so empowering to be wearing something very sexy and ultra feminine underneath your clothing, even if just running errands.

I had to recently build a rack to hang all my bras in my room because I no longer had space in my closet...

I've been in love with La Perla since I was a little girl and, as I got older, I saw all hope to eventually be able to wear it dissipate as my breasts kept getting larger. The high end lingerie brands, to include VS designer, do not even come close to manufacture DDDs

Sometimes I pull up their website and I "window" shop... VS is what accommodates me so they get my loyalty.

A lot of brands even some fancy schmancy ones I can't wear unless my tits shrink or I get a reduction which isn't happening. It'd be great if some higher end brands catered up to an H-cup but not enough do.
They do not display a sale sign. You must ask the sales lady to show you the sale items. They have a lot of sizes still available at our Las Vegas store. The sale on the website is not nearly as good as the same items in store.

Thanks Heather for the info.I saw AP had their online sale but by the time I checked there was nothing I was interested in.AP is my fav I used to like VS but since becoming an AP customer that is the way to go.I will say the VS designer collection is very nice I have picked up a few of their pieces.
Kiki de Montparnasse is another brand of quality. It's also pricy, however it's still better than VS.
I have a few pieces by AP, but honestly find them overpriced for the quality - which is good, but not great.

I've been pretty enamored with Dita von Teese' line of lingerie lately - here - as well as Playful Promises. (Who now *finally* carry bras larger than a DD!). Bordelle is another favorite.

The brands I listed above are a bit darker, more edgy and retro inspired than La Perla or AP, which fits my style.

I'm also *so* excited to visit Trashy Diva when I get to New Orleans next week - despite the name they carry a fantastic range of luxury, fuller figured, retro inspired brands.

I do buy a few choice items from the VS signature line every year... it's a Christmas gift to myself Even on their best day though, Victoria's Secret doesn't last half as long as the top notch construction. I'm fairly tough on my lingerie though, to be fair.

We are lucky enough to have an Agent Provocateur in Boston, as well as a La Perla, and I'm no stranger to either! I actually had the trying moment of walking into AP late one night with a civie friend and having the clerk address me by my "name"... what can I say, myself and a particular gentleman friend are frequent shoppers.

Agent Provocateur produces some very fun things, and I am a huge fan of their stockings particularly. La Perla, while they do not carry as broad a line as Agent Provocateur, makes the most comfortable panties in the world... they almost feel *better* than being naked! Almost.

I don't usually spend $500 on a bra and am an unabashed sale shopper... as well as a very grateful gift receiver, which is honestly where most of my wardrobe comes from

The Dita pieces are great, purchased a few sets over Christmas but one came in with a rip and the other came in the wrong size, and now they're out of stock so I look forward to receiving them soon.

babylikestopony.com is a great place to find all your luxury brands and some fun accessories and toys under one roof. I bought some leather pasties which look great under a lace shirt I wear with a pencil skirt.

Now I'm setting my extraneous greenbacks toward vintage peignoirs, and those satin maribou slippers and things like that. It seems those items suit my pin-up shape and vintage look better anyway. But it is rather peculiar how little attention is paid to those sorts of details. Oh well, I dress up for myself more than anything I suppose.

I wish there was a La Perla anywhere in the region, for that matter. I was trying to get one of my girlfriends a set recently in Houston and Dallas and neither of them have a boutique. Even Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue only carry the "La Perla Studio" line, which just isn't as beautiful or high quality IMO. Originally Posted by spicyzoey

Yes, some of my favorite lingerie is from those two stores. Although the VS designer label, which is difficult to find outside of places like NYC, is starting to produce some amazing pieces as well, priced very similarly.

Have you looked at the price tags on designer shoes lately? Equally mind-blowing. When I moved to NYC a year ago one of my girlfriends firmly told me, "don't skimp on the uniform!" I think gentlemen with more expensive taste do know and appreciate the difference between designer lingerie and $30-$50 VS bras and panties. Maybe it's less common in the south, but the NYC men can definitely tell the difference, so that pushed me to take my lingerie wardrobe to the next level.

Wolford is another high-end place with very high quality stockings and pantyhose. They're amazingly strong and many of us ladies go through stockings like tissues until we discover them.

My favorite pair of purple stockings featured in my current photos are from Agent Provocateur. The white lingerie set in my newest photos are La Perla. The lacey lavender three piece set in the bluish photos with the purple stockings is Victoria's Secret designer label. Originally Posted by spicyzoey

I've always been a frugal gal saving for the big important life events or things so these things are hard to attain. Like Zoey said,I guess the gents with more expensive taste can tell but just showcase in it really upgrade your level and self-marketing whether they can tell or not. I also came around to know Louboutin and acquried a few pairs although I must say they are a little disappointing as far as comfort. Expensive shoes don't always = comfort. They're hard to walk in and I fell silly quite few times walking in them. lol The really high ones at least.
