BANNED

I prefer to keep within the Guidelines to avoid a forced timeout. It is so convenient to just send a PM and the receiving party knows from whom it comes.

Ladies and gents,

What does getting banned from the site really mean to a member?
..:SNIP:..

What is your take?

I think the majority of people here want to play within the rules because in general they play within the rules. But there really is no severe consequence if you don't.

The majority of men make decisions based a "look" and perceived skills.

Women that use the board properly can build a nice business here overtime. Many can do so without the need to ever interact outside of a few initial posts in the welcome wagon. A showcase, decent pics, ads and good reviews are all that the majority of ladies need.

For women that lack that "look" they need to interact more in order to draw attention to themselves.

All ladies have access to a variety of mediums to advertise in but for those that NEED the interaction to drive business because they never had or aged out of the "look" being banned can cripple their cash flow.

The effect on a guy is much different. In regards to his ability to hobby it depends on how he hobbies. Some guys are looking to tap a girl as fast as she appears and that means being able to PM Welcome Wagon Ladies. No matter how much ladies preach about screening , a long time board presence and 3 or 4 reviews and the ability to send PMs gets guys seen far more than anyone wants to admit.

For others that research, read reviews and post ISO's it curtails their ability to some extent.

It depends on how "honorable" a guy is. if he is a "researcher" a new handle and writing a quick review gets him access to the info pretty quick..... It does NOT help the guy dependent on his board rep to get through doors with newer girls.

The reputation and credibility behind a guys handle connects him to information not always freely shared.... Ladies and "handlers" often seek out certain guys with certain reps directly..... I have a reputation in regards to SBs and Strippers...... Other members aware of this PM me and others like me when they have believe there will be interest......

So being Banned definitely can affect the ability for a guy to hobby with maximum effectiveness.

More so with guys than ladies EGO comes into play. That's where the real slap on the ban stings a bit.

For example...Ricky is a bad boy and the "RockerRick" handle is worn by him with a sense of pride. He enjoys the role and the inability to "wear" his favorite garb wore on his ego overtime and became important enough to him to slightly modify his behavior..... "Slightly"..... I doubt anyone believe he ever missed a day on the board posting or having access to what he wanted....

In some cases, if being banned meant the permanent loss of a recognizable personna it might be slightly more effective. IF the practice of perma-banning a member's original handle when caught with a second one were in place I think it would help curtail a few..... not all but a few...

Banning is certainly not a cure all on a board where anonymity in registration is an accepted practice. But there is not much more that really can be done.

Fair point - there ARE a LOT of desperate dudes.
Or a time to ignore all the guidelines and do what you want, with only the small inconvenience of making the next account.

I'll never forget Louigi using private tags on me..... lol

The one thing that I can say about banning a Hobbyist that can be of help if the ban was put in place because the Hobbyist was determined to be a danger to the women or people on the site.

This can only be useful if the women do research.
Eccie only enforces guideline infractions, they do not police anything that is not posted on the board.

I would be devastated if I ever got banned.

Who am I going to talk shit to?
Who is going to make me question my beauty and intelligence?

I get waaaay too much adoration in real life.

Sometimes a girl just wants to be objectified and dehumanized.
Some times she just plain old needs it.

Love,

the oh so loved yet... hated, but never banned....
