Camille,
You ask excellent questions which means you are truly interested in getting an excellent answer.

LikiNikki, IMO, wrote some of the best advertisements on the board, above is a favorite example.
She is funny, creative, intelligent and displayed her energy by WORKING to produce a product that entertained and made you want to see the energizer bunny in person.
Many women are extremely resourceful and creative, if they were to put half the effort into sexual creativeness that they do in choosing paint and wallpaper, there would not be much demand for courtesans.
Nikki's adverts held the promise that the woman who went to such lengths to create a weekly or weekend ad also had creativity and energy between, on , under and "to hell with the bed" the sheets.
When she was working she knew she had reached what she thought of as her "shelf life" and that her one major distractor was her age. Looking at her more creative advertisements, she used her experience to set her apart from the girls with the same old message that never changed.
I was awake last night thinking about your question 'what makes us click on an advertisement?'
The title - Does it solve a problem for us or maybe it is the beginning of a riddle.
The body - does it use or have good graphical design characteristics?
The closure - does it close the sell or have us rushing to contact you to buy your product?
The practical application of Marketing 101, 301, 501 to some of the most jaded customers in an over supplied market.
Let me throw you a freebie -
Title - "Looking to improve your golf game?"
Body -
Insert picture of golfer in high weeds taking a swing
Caption reads something such as this "Life a bit rough?"
Insert picture of your supine body with a patch of green, a golf ball in a golf cup and flag in between your legs
Caption reads "Come play my championship course where the fairway is long, and lean with subtle curves, and you are guaranteed a hole in one".
Followed by your contact requirements.
If I had more time and inclination I would have put this together for you, but it's best for a student to do her own work in order to divulge her own personality.
Camille you have good board presence, you are obviously intelligent, and you have SAangel as your staunchest proponent, which again IMO says a lot about you.
My best to you on this project.
