Haggling, Negotiating Pricing, Gifts and Being A Cheap Bastard.... does it work?

I don't really hear from too many hagglers anymore. I did when I first joined the board. I thank them for their kind request, and decline the appointment.

I have one of, if not the lowest rates for a quality FBSM here in Austin @90/60m. I've maintained that rate since joining as I have a few clients I know work 2 or 3 days out of the month just to afford that one hour of time. I'm grateful for their patronage.

Gifts? Goodness! I know how fortunate I am.... My fellas take very good care of me! Via TIP or gift they bring along.. With Valentine's just a few days away... My place looks like a fetish friendly FTD! Several vases of roses, chocolate dipped strawberries, an assortment of new glass, steel, and leather implements, chocolate hearts, and wine! It's a new feeling for me, but I feel spoiled...

When a thoughtful gift comes out of the blue, it touches my heart. Like everyone else would, I feel appreciated, humbled and truly grateful. If just a little mushy too!

Haggling or asking if I have a special when we don't even know each other is the equivalent to a major boner killer. Ya may as well have smacked me in the face.

Now- My regulars. That's a different story. I know they appreciate me. If one if them throws down 200, I know they will get me next time. Or a regular says he only has hh, that's cool. Just as long as they don't take advantage. My rates are mostly a riff raff deterrent. Plus, I can't have a lot of foot traffic and well-- I'm in my 30's. In hooker years that's about like 50! Ive earned my stars and stripes in experience. I like to take my time and I just don't have the emotional energy to be high volume or take a every appointment especially a haggled one. I'm a prideful and picky hoe! I like to keep it real and that takes energy as opposed to just going through the motions. A girl burns out taking every session offered especially with haggle rs. Plus, I have a shit ton of overhead.

Someone would day some money is better than no money, but this isn't exactly a normal job. Selling girl scout cookies is kind of sacred ya know.

I don't haggle, but there was 1 case where I contacted a provider who didn't have published rates. The rate she quoted on the phone was more than I was willing to do at the time. I declined and she asked for a counter, which I offered and she accepted.

This may be splitting hairs, but I didn't contact someone with a published rate and ask for something lower. This was 10+ years ago and we agreed to 300 for an hour, so it wasn't a low-ball either.

While the cost of living inflates you can see, with the influx of women willing to be paid companions, the market rate has indeed declined.

I would say now with BP and back then when CL emerged all the street girls came to the web and started charging 60/15min 160/hr... fuckin' up the game, as they say...

That was in Silicon Valley before the 2001 recession. Prices were pretty high then - and $300 wasn't that uncommon for short-notice appointments. Also, it was an outcall which is typically more.

Where and when?

I don't like to haggle. It's a hangover of a personal guideline from years back where you accepted a provider's rate or any advertised special, but not anything that may be offered or asked in private.

That said, there's 2 things that really annoy me:

1) Can't find rates. If I can't find it in the ad, ECCIE showcase, P411 profile, personal website, etc. how am I suppose to figure out if I want to spend time with that provider? Probably the reason I stay off of BP & similar sites and all those sugarbaby sites. On a side note, when I see "contact me about rates", the high end retail phrase comes to mind: if you have to ask, you can't afford it.

2) There are times where you have to haggle. The popular Nevada brothels don't post rates. Each brothel worker sets their own rates and have outrageous rates for specific services, usually listed on a "menu" in their private room. You're suppose to haggle to something mutually agreeably (unless you're a sucker and pay the menu prices). Someone mentioned used cars, feels like I'm cheapening the experience when I have to haggle. Maybe it's not so bad when you're expect to get it reasonably priced.

Not really that big of a deal here but when I lived in Vegas, I was always annoyed with the touring providers that kicked their rates up vs home rates. Yes, I understand that you have extra expenses when you tour. Still not happy to pay a premium to see you if I do book an appointment.

nope.. It was in South Florida... But Houston and San Antonio rates were in that range..... and Austin was a bit higher... but not $300 by any means...
