Driver Side Door Glass Exploded

Something's not adding up from the start of this LOL

Insurance companies consider pot holes as avoidable hazards of the road. I would imagine that Dorthy has a $500 deductible which is the most popular amongst drivers. If she does pay out of pocket, I doubt the cost of repair would not exceed the deductible even if it's $250, making it futile to file a claim. She could always sue the city of Houston for not filling up the pothole but she would have to have evidence that she did indeed hit a pothole which caused the damage to her window.

Take your vehicle to the dealer. Show your findings from google. You may want to be prepared to contact the BBB. If your findings are true, you may be able to go through the Lemon-Law.

Remember, they only want to sell you a car. Not fix it. Originally Posted by australian_hell_yun

But then again Houston isn't known for great service.

It should still be in warranty and isn't "cosmetic related" so the dealership should repair it for you. Keep in the mind that a dealership is motivated to assist you because you are a potential customer for oil changes, future repair work and future car purchases. If that does not help, then apply for lemon law car protection.

So sorry, DM. That's scary!

It could very well be a rock propelled at just the right speed and angle. You might look under your seats for a deceptively small pebble. Happened to me a few years back with my Honda Accord. My insurance deductible was high, didn't have anything to do with warranty or recalls, and I had to shell out for a new passenger window.

If you are finding a history of this complaint, however, be prepared to stand your ground, and get your insurance agent involved to pressure the dealership. I would think that the cost of fixing one lousy window on a new car would be minimal compared to losing a customer's good will.
If the service manager doesn't help then fall back to the ole tried and true.......offer to blow him.

a sexy chick into cars.. I'm in love.
The window that exploded was my drivers door window and I wasn't near cars because I was by the shoulder on the beltway in traffic.. I kept the large piece of glass for proof that I wasn't lying and also printed out the complaints on the internet... The first 5 people I spoke to didnt believe me but then I finally talked to someone who has seen it before.. They put me in a rental and fixed my windshield after about 3 hours of going round in. round... I was cut & bleeding but im okay it could have been really bad & thankfully I was ok.. But there alot of complaints on this on the internet its kinda suprising.. Thanks everyone

There was absolutely no rock chip on the window so they had no choice but to believe me..
Btw I wasn't concerned about how much the windshield was I was more concerned that it could have been alot worse & being that my car is only 14 days old is a bit scary... But im ok wheew
Do you have insurance? How much is your deductible? Tell your agent a semi passed you and threw a rock and it hit the window. Originally Posted by Quentintime
