No, I do not like where we are today--but unfortunately too many like he/she want to go back to this wonderful vision of 'America the Way It Should Be". The trouble is, that vision is wonderful from the perspective of the white, male, protestant subgroup.
The people in power never want to share it. And when they are forced to, the results are usually far uglier than if they had been less greedy. Too many of the people who "want to save America" want to put women back in the kitchen, want to return to "separate but equal", and want to send back all immigrants after their forefathers showed up.
Yes, we have problems and things that need to be fixed, but it is odd (not really) how that diatribe you started this thread with doesn't really saw HOW to do it. Isn't that exactly your RWWs gripe (correctly, I will say) with passing ACA? That the details were not really thought out, but it sounded good. So tell me, how do you go back, reclaim the America that never really was for everyone, without shoving whole classes of people back into "lesser citizen" status?
