Ok yeah I get the drama, but to me it doesn't change who is already to going to see someone. I'm just saying that for a majority it seems like we're set in our ways of what we're going to do. So why exactly do the people standing up for the provider normally get burned too?

For instance if a thread starts off positively, talking about the good characteristics of the provider, and then other trolls come in and start bringing in drama...why is the person who tries to mitigate these comments killed and ridiculed?

Just saying, the people introducing the drama aren't necessarily these WKs, but normally bored people trying to start something.

I am under the impression that the plight against the "white knights" of ECCIE is a noble one.

Firstly, I believe that a lot of the more experienced guys have at once been smitten by a provider and in essence became guilty of "falling too hard" for her. This is a dangerous state to be in as one would tend to try to establish connections that aren't there. Also, they would try to project unrealistic expectations on said provider as if they were in a relationship. I think the veteran hobbyist on this board have the realization that falling for a provider in this manner can only end badly. With that being said, when they see the symptoms of White Knightism, they attack like the noble white blood cells they are.

Also, deterring this type of behavior on these boards is beneficial for the providers as well, ensuring their safety and keeps the number of potential stalkers and obsessed psychopaths at bay.

Everyone knows these ladies have the inner strength to fend for themselves without the help of WK's potentially making a situation worse. Also, a white knights eyes are blinded to reality so he can never truly "know" anything about a provider. These render the plight of the white knight useless.

WK'ing is a completely useless tool which can only lead to bad things, so it's best to bend the tree as a sapling as opposed to breaking it once it is fully developed.
