This means that the petition is asking that those who commit major crimes such as burglary, rape, kidnapping, selling major drugs, and etc. who is deported , and comes back into the states is put in jail for returning. If you commit a major crime in the USA AND YOU ARE HERE ILLEGALLY, YOU GET DEPORTED. I dont know how else to explain it. OMG! I never meant for my post to cause so much drama. I feel like I am in grade school again. Nowhere did I ask anyone to agree with the views in this petition nor did I ask anyone to share their opinions or feelings about the petition. We all have our beliefs and opinions about different policies pertaining to the law. Sometimes I see things black and others may see things white. We were not all born to agree with one another. That is what makes the world go around. You may never agree with "Kate's law." While there are some who do. That is our prerogative. I simply posted this for those who may be interested in learning more about it and would like to sign their endorsement and to do so without being criticized or given a talking to of why one should not agree with it or should not sign it. If you don't agree with it and don't want to sign it, fine. If you do, wonderful. Why do we have to get in such a fuc*in debate over it. I am through with trying to explain something that you may or may not agree with. I AM DONE WITH THIS THREAD. It's my choice just as it is yours. Can we please drop it and move on to something that we may have in common instead of something that we don't. I regret posting this thread with every ounce of my being. I just can't stand the bickering and people trying to be politically correct. IT IS SO DEPRESSING. The board is all yours for those who want to continue it. HAVE AT IT.

When I wrote this post, I was on my itty bitty phone and on the treadmill at the same time. I have found that when I am on such a device, I sometimes make unintentional errors in my writings just as we ALL occasionally do. Thanks for pointing out my clerical error. Its states those who have committed a felony and are then deported and reenter the country illegally. That is what the Katy law proposes. It is not speaking about illegals who are deported for being illegal, it is talking about illegals who commit a felony crime and are deported for that crime and whom reenter the country. It is not unusual for an illegal resident of any ethnic group to commit a crime and be convicted, rather than being housed at the tax payers expense they are just deported and told not to come back, this is what the Katy law is trying to prevent. Only if you reenter the country after being deported do they upgrade you to felony status and send you away for five years.
