Went on a 2 day Fishing Trip

Ling are peculiar fish.

They kinda remind me of wakeup:

Little body ..... big head ....mostly mouth.

Hangs out at the surface....quietly watching.

Interested but doesn't say much.

Then can't resist and takes the bait.

Puts up a hell of a fight ....

..... but always loses. Originally Posted by GlobeSpotter

Check with Williams Party Boats in Galveston. They had the Captain John boat in the federal permit program this year and they were still doing 12 hour red snapper trips until the permits ran out. They had trips planned through September.
Take Snapper Slapers lures, mullets, and some steel leaders.
Your son will enjoy that. Originally Posted by universalenergy

My best trip this year was a couple days in May fishing for trout and reds out of Venice LA. Full limits both days.

You guys want to get into some awsome Wahoo action, get one of the charter captains out of Galveston this winter that go to the flower gardens. They really stack up out there that time of year, and there is no limit on them. While you out there is also some good blackfin tuna fishing at some of the rigs out that way also.

I like to go and put in at the Kemah Bridge and go catch some croakers at oyster reef and put them in the live well and go to some honey holes and free line for some bull reds and trout.

We have done good trolling at the 15 mile weed line for dorado and wahoo.

I have caught some Ling Cobia around buoys free-lining live gaff-top catfish with my spinning combo. Just cut off the top dorsal fin with some tin snips.
Throw in some chum and turn on the bilge pump and they will come to the top if they are there. Ling Cobia, Mahi-Mahi and Wahoo.

Something else that is just kicking in, the silver mullet run on beach front. Redfish are right on their ass, slots and bull reds. Grab your cast net, catch a few dozen, park your ass on the beach and cast up close in the second gut. Shit you don't even have to get wet, had many truly awsome days and nights catching reds, and throw some solid trout in the mix.
I had mahi/dorado/dolphin for lunch today.

Yummy
Fuck all of you summa bichs.... I got stuck in Tebow land for one more fucking week, one third of the U.S. Pouplation is going to invade again.... And all mighty mother of God... UF's first fucking home game is Saturday in this shithole.... You fucktards have fun! I think I have to find a hooker in Jax, and camp out this weekend.....

I haven't been fishing since I was a little girl. Sounds like fun though.

September thru October is great for Bull reds in close to shore and jetty's.
I am going to buy the Shimano SRG20000 Saragosa SW and I have a 2 piece ugly stick spin cast surf rod. I like night fishing at the beach. Cooler, more relaxing, less people and no sun burn!

I recommend Williams Party Boats and Galveston Party Boats has 4 hour Bay and Jetty fishing trips. They supply bait, tackle, rod and reels for 45.00 per person. They are both in Galveston on Pier 19 by the Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig Museum.

If a person doesn't have equipment and experience...The 4 hour trips are great.
They will put you on some fish. The boats are smooth riding catamarans, air conditioned seating ares inside with tables and bench's, restrooms and a galley,
Not bad for 45.00 per per person and they supply bait and all tackle. All you need to bring is a fishing license.

I have 2 Shimano Calcutta reels and an AVET SXJ 5.3 Reel on All Star Popping rods.

The Calcutta are old but have been good but I really like the AVET and it is made in the U.S.A.
