Locking threads is frowned upon by icky upper management. Just because the OP of a thread requests a closure does not mean the thread should be closed. The rule of thumb should be: You Post It, You Own It.You are correct and it is indeed rare for me to lock a thread. By the time I read that thread I just didn't have the energy to pass out points to all the off-topic and rude posters. Since that thread would clearly continue to go downhill, it made sense (and was less work for me) to honor the OPs request. I've had my wheaties today, so I'll pull up the rulebook and get ready, lol.
