Sooo...the runoff is tomorrow...
No doubt the state will lose some business.
Over two decades of outward migration may resume. That's outward migration of expense money kind of jobs too.
Working on putting something else together that would entail having an office in Houston, with another here. The one here may have to be cancelled now then I'd have to live in Houston, and I'm a 50% partner.
Huey P. Long's ghost has been revived and with all the resources an fun living available in Louisiana, we ARE a backwater state and it this has nothing to do with any religious folks, but monied investors not wanting to do anything here.
Time will tell though
Annie, you are even more of a smug self righteous idiot than Edwards. You have one of the most closed minds on this board as evident from your post history. You think you are the only one here that can form cognizant thoughts?
Who cracked down on sex workers in the Quarter.........A Democrat.
Edwards is already discussing his raising of taxes, though he calls it fees etc, though anyone with half a brain knows that is just another word for.....TAX.
If Edwards does 1 thing for sex workers, i will dance....no...prance down Bourbon street naked.
Couldn't agree more with disilene and David-Louisiana. It's baffling how Edwards could win. I think it was because of the amount of heavily Christian voters in the state that couldn't bring themselves to vote for a guy who was busted banging hookers. He can't deny it and that's a deal breaker for a lot of people. To me, it's irrelevant, but hey I buy hookers too. I care more about policy than who they have sex with.
The other thing, and I think this is the main reason, was the fact that a HUGE portion of this state LOVES Edwin Edwards and this guy happens to have that last name. I could be wrong, but I've talked to people who think they are related. I have no idea if they are or not, but that last name carries weight in this state. A lot of people don't like Edwin Edwards and think he's a crook (rightfully so, he IS a crook) but they also think he looks out for the little guy. I think the voters made a MAJOR mistake, especially considering how bad the oilfield is hurting down here right now.
