I agree now this is a different type of scenario then what the OP posted... She was trying to get the room number upfront, sounds like he didn't want to give it out which I don't blame that..

Now if he had this other girl show up and then waste her gas and time then that is another story...

But the OP never showed up because she didn't get room number and she decided not to go, so now he has a alert on him..
