I don't think that gifts are creepy or crossing any boundaries. I have very friendly relationships with some clients. I do think that a gift is more personal than a tip. Either are never expected but always appreciated.
I have never given a gift and very rarely tip. A couple times I have been pressured to give a tip and have caved. I set a limit for myself on how much I can justify spending on this stuff. Could I spend more sure, can I justify it no.

So its simple for me. If I like seeing a provider then she will make alot of money off me in the future because I usually only see one provider until things go south. So no need for a tip. If I don't like her no need to tip. And iI will be damned if I go over my budget and not be able to hobby as much as i want because I am giving out tips.

Did someone really post that he is of the theory that we are paying providers for their time and not their activities?

I guess this is where quite a few of the disputes, dramatics, and hard feelings originate?

I see one lady and have for nearly 4 years. I tip and give her gifts. I enjoy it. And I have received gifts and treats from her. We have a nice business relationship and I have never
been turned down or put on hold.
