question for touring providers

I always try to respond politely to such inquiries, but they can get annoying, especially for someone who never travels. It's especially annoying when it's phrased as:

"Will you come see me in ____ this Saturday?" or "When are you coming to ____?"

Once a guy asked me to take an uncompensated 12 hour train ride to go see him. Reading his message was already a waste of my time. I do believe that asking can be done respectfully, but understand that when a lady hears the same things over and over again, you run the risk of irritating her no matter how sweet you are.

I said I'm sorry China... I thought you'd enjoy the 12 hour train ride!!

There is usually enough information in provider showcases, websites, schedules, etc. to determine if there is a legitimate shot of having her visit the area. I couldn't imagine asking a provider if she would visit out of the blue...that's just silly!!

If they do not mention touring, then I tend not to message them.

I wish more had a posted schedule, or calender because that would remove the need for me to have to ask.
I, personally am flattered. I ask if I can put their name aside and when I decide to go there, see if they are available to meet for a session.
OMG YES! That is the most annoying thing ever! First, it is a huge time waster considering no matter what day you say you will be there, odds are that very person asking will not see you. He wil be out of town, out of money, had to bury his dog, or some other bs excuse that never fails...the question in and of itself is more of an ISO.

The other thing is when they ask if you can "Stop by" such and such area on your way. Ummm sure dude, I will ask the Pilot if he can drop in for an hour so I can see you lol.

I don't even respond to such emails at all anymore. My auto response is set up to direct them to my calendar. No clue when I will be in your area if it's not posted for the next 30 days. Then the old, "Can you call me when you get to my area?" Right, so you want me to keep the info. from every guy that has ever emailed me and travel across state lines with it? Nah I think I am gonna pass, and let you call me when you figure out how this works lol.

I think you answered your own question by reporting that most ladies don't respond to such emails. Some will, and also waste days on end chatting with a guy who never sees them....not the majority though. Originally Posted by London Rayne

I'm with CarolinaGent. I'll sometimes ask because the provider does mention touring or a willingness to travel. I won't just ask any provider-- only those that I think might be willing. For example, I know providers who are just a few hours away and have been around my area but haven't been in my town. I won't ask some provider out in LA out of the blue if she would consider coming to the East Coast. That would be absurd. On the other hand, it wouldn't be absurd to ask a provider located in say Tennessee or Atlanta to consider making a trip to another local in the S.E. USA.

I would view any feedback or requests as valuable. As London points out she's not going to to ask the pilot to make a special stop for an hour but it has to be good to know where there is some interest and also the quality of said interest.

If you get 3 notes from jackasses in St. Louis and 3 from respectable, long term members from Kansas City doesn't that help you plan (or at least think about) touring?
