That sort of stuff, not this extreme, happened at UT a lot while I was there. I rolled my eyes when PHD students would defend these drag rats and their life style choices. I'm sorry, but they harassed freshmen fresh out of high school who are thrust into reality.

Yes, I feel bad for homeless people, but not when they drop out of college to live that lifestyle. APD has been cracking down on the homeless population near UT, but apparently not enough. Imagine walking back to your dorm with a pack of beer. There was no doubt some homeless people were going to harass you. Sad story, hopefully UT will get it together after this incident. On a University campus there's no justification for vagrancy. When they're seen they should not only be expelled from the campus but thrown in jail and prosecuted for vagrancy. If not then maybe a squad of concerned citizens with have to patrol the place on our own to see to it these animals are dealt with properly and according to the law because the University Police are indifferent to enforcing it.

I went to a concert at Stubbs a few years ago and it was dark. I was with my wife and 18 year old daughter. Vagrant black guys swarmed us after parking. Wanted money for watching my car. It was scary. Them looking good in heels and jeans (running could be a problem) and me not knowing to pay or not as there were probably 4 in our face and another group 20 yards away. I just ignored them and grabbed the girls arms and walked. I told them I'll pick them up out front at the end. There are plenty of white homeless that have caused problems as well DT but these were all black. IT's flat out dangerous down there.

Exactly. They did that to my sister when she came and visited me in 2006. She makes it clear never to live in Austin again.

New questions are being asked in this crime. Specifically, his lack of mental health care. ie. not be able to get his medication which was Seroquel, a strong anti-psychotic drug. This is a huge problem that needs to be addressed and I am glad they are going to bring that to light. Perhaps if he had access to good mental health care - note - not Obama care - this would not have happened.

Genetics can't be fixed by mental health care. Don't let the media and their bullshit fool you.
