WTH is going on with GD cards?

Green Dot has always had a note in their Terms of Service indicating you can't use the card for "business purposes" -- regardless of the business you have. Recently they've started enforcing it more than usual, meaning they close your account and refund the money in it, and then bar you from ever registering with them again. Most ladies have been able to fly UTR with using a GD card to purchase ads and frequent hotel rooms/flights, but it appears these are now much more likely to set off flags with the powers that be.

As far as what to do with the reload card you already purchased, that's a good question! If you still have the receipt, you may be able to get a refund from the store you purchased it at. Even if you don't, check with them anyway, because they may be able to work with you. Or you can call GD customer service and see what they recommend (but as you've probably noticed, they're not really known for their excellent customer service).

As Lisa mentioned, thankfully there are other alternatives for pre-paid cards. Western Union has one too. I've not used it personally, but have heard good things about.

Try WIRED PLASTIC VISA. I've never had a problem in 6 yrs. Its cheaper than GD and not as obvious. No muse no fuse....

Anyway, I only used my GD for ads, maybe because I had so many.

I use my regular cc & dbt card for my hotels for the miles as I do tour quite a bit.

Carrie that was too funny! This is some top secret, security clearance, on a need to know basis stuff! lol
