As far as I know there's nothing wrong with saying who sent you a PM, and referencing the general content of that PM. It happens regularly, in several forums, with no administrative consequences.
One of us is mistaken about the guidelines.

Otherwise, every time a moderator, or responder to an ISO, writes "PM sent," they would be violating this guideline.
Or, are you suggesting that Member1 can never mention that Member2 sent Member1 a PM?
