According to those who seem to have forgotten that this is a client/sex worker site and not PlentyofFish or Tinder, it seems like the getting paid aspect is what categorically negates sex workers' authenticity and capacity to feel real feelings (with their clients).
Based on this logic
- chefs don't really care about cooking their patrons delicious and safe to consume meals because they get paid
- pilots don't really care about making sure you get from one point to the next safely because they get paid
- educators don't really care about imparting knowledge to their students because they get paid
- surgeons don't really care about performing operations and improving the health and well being of their patients because they get paid
- fire fighters don't really care about risking their lives to save people and property because they get paid
This mistrust and disbelief that prostitutes can actually consent, enjoy their work and clients, and experience pleasure during their work at least some of the time is shared by obstinate evangelical Jesus freaks and policy makers who fixate on saving whores from themselves. When regional hooker boards, local strip clubs, etc are getting shut down left and right, the densest of y'all will be scratching your head and missing the connection between the whorephobia you gleefully perpetuate and state agents cracking down on all of us. And I don't wish it to be so, but when there is an upswing in "end demand" style client criminalization in the not too distant future, I bet y'all will be singing a different tune.
