Another euphemistic term I enjoy for hobbying is "plying my trade".

I personally love language and get pleasure out of being pedantic over semantics, so don't mind someone over-analyzing such things. Proper communication is important! Originally Posted by Victoria of Houston

I've had an appointment with what certainly smelled like a fish monger before. DATY stopped before it started.
The OP is correct that the official definition of the word "monger" means: "A dealer in or trader of a commodity." Originally Posted by Victoria of Houston

So if I trade something of value for some pussy then I would not be a monger.

Hell I spent 12 years getting a 4th grade education from the Houston Independent School District so I may not be nearly as educated as somebody from the other side of the Sabine river.

For some odd reason, I thinck you should read a little more about the word monger and the definition(s) thereof.

Personally, I believe that the English language is way overrated and the requirement that our children should be forced to study it tell they are way out of high school is absurd. It is only English majors that cant find a good paying job that insist upon that foolish endeavor.

Now enter the grammar popo to slash and burn.
I am out!

Eye can sea ewe be leave ewe no what is rite.

You sir are a word monger.

I suggest you widen your horizons and with it your mind as well as your intellect.

As a proponent of proper communication and a lifelong student of linguistics, it's refreshing to find someone who appreciates how words are sometimes misapplied.

However, language is a living thing that goes through evolutionary periods. A few decades ago the term "gay" meant "happy and carefree;" "pussy" just referred to felines; and the "net" was what you hauled a fish into the boat with.

Even if initially improper, words often take on new meanings depending upon usage, especially if acceptance becomes widespread.

This has been your ECCIE educational moment, brought to you by our sponsor, Jack-Off in the Box Condoms.
Play safe.
