I love second amendment arguments even though this really isn't one.

Trying to dissect anything that James Madison did or said is about as easy as disproving the existence of God.

Incredible analogy for the modernized highly accurate and precision AR-15's, AK47's and Uzii's that are also affected by Safe Act. Pistols are only good for short range in most circumstances but still provide a highly accurate gun when used properly. Nice post Lexxy ! Second amendment is a tough argument , probably easier for people living in rural areas to understand as we have grown up with guns just a regular item around the house all our lives. Appreciate the feedback, gotten some good info.

Very very very complicated notion.

In my experience the majority of people who dredge up the memory of the founding fathers have no sophistication at all about those people and even less so about the complexities of the relationships between them.

For my money the two most important and influential revolutionary era Americans are James Madison and John Adams. Most people couldn't pick either of those two out of a lineup in 2017.

I include the overwhelming majority of American politicians in this group.
