Hmmm??? I never thought of it that way. Maybe someone should start a thread about why some of these gals think they should charge so much. Originally Posted by Rudyard K

I live in Austin and some of the suppositions here I agree with, some not so much.

Texas is big. YES. Houston is the nations 4th largest city and Dallas and San Antonio are also in the top 10. All these cities have more than a million. Austin is getting close to a million and Dallas is also attached to one of the largest Metro areas in the country. So yes the law of averages is with you.

LE more friendly? I don't know. There are counties in Texas where ladies will not outcall to, and will not have incalls in. Houston has had some vice busts (as we all know). Dallas shuts down AMPs from time to time. I don't know the raw numbers here so I will say that it my opinon LE is about as aggressive as anywhere.

Prices being client friendly? Well if you live in Austin it doesn't seem to be the case. We have a lot of providers but not nearly as many as Dallas and Houston, and there seems to be some kind of informal union keeping prices higher than other places in the state. In the techno heyday Austin was a very wealthy place for Texas and a lot of money to go around. The recession has hit central Texas and some of the ladies aparently think us guys are just holding out, and they can still charge higher rates. Well the cost of living was already higher in Austin than most anywhere in Texas, and the recession has exaggerated that.

The Dallas ladies who have been visiting Austin lately have been doing it right. Not raising their rates. If Dallas ladies visit Austin and see the higher rates that are being charged by locals they think guys are actually paying it and they can ride that wave. The wise providers who visit will be right below the local market rate and will fare very well.

In general rates in Texas are lower because in general the cost of living in Texas is much lower. We have no state income tax, but higher property taxes (a lot of providers rent so this doesn't affect them). I used to live in Chicago and I couldn't buy a shack up there for what will get me a brand new home here. Gasoline is cheaper. etc....

Since most of the hobbiests in the DFW market are married, maybe the providers are hoping for a cameo on Cheaters

I can only speak for myself...have been in the adult entertainment business in one form or the other for over 10 years in Dallas. I've made an excellent living...huge savings account...and completely relied on the market to support myself. I have zero complaints. Now, I've established an excellent reputation and have kept my rates low, but overall I have to say this has been a positive market/experience.

Having said that, I'm counting down the days till this May...my retirement...go me!

So yes you are correct.
