yes they are everywhere, but we are talking about federal aircraft contracts.

Unions play a relatively minor role in federal contracts except in ship building. they are not what causes cost over-runs in federal contracts.

there are industries that need to keep the production line open.

a majority of them with the exception of Boeing, Pratt & whitney, and General Electric are one trick ponies. They serve the defense industry with no commercial market on the side.
