In Your Opinion, Who Gives The Most Accurate News?

NPR - gives both side. Reports news with out opinion. Despite what the right says.

I like Brian Williams. I think NPR reports more important news items without the tabloid stuff that a lot of news organizations stick in to entertain the brain dead populace. Jon Stewart is good for a laugh.

For TV, Fox News in the morning or for local news in the morning Fox 4. Unfortunate Geraldo was on Fox when the news about Usama broke last Sunday night, can't stand the guy. He was just all giddy. I had to switch to CNN.
For internet, Drudge Report.
NPR not biased? Give me a break. They're as bad or worse than MSNBC. I do like NPR's "Car Talk" on Saturday mornings for the humor.

I usually read the National Enquirer and Weekly World News .........lmao, priceless. and silly girl likes the nyt and npr/ wow.

It was a joke. Jackie was the only one who got it. I was hoping more would find the humor in it.

Fox news is on constantly at my place for breaking news stories. I find that they are more balanced with libs like Geraldo and Greta. The more conservative REPORTERS don't insult my intelligence and they do have the experience with Brit Hume and Chris Wallace. I can also watch informed and provocative opinion with O'Reilly and Hannity. They bring on guests like Charlie Rangel (r), Al Sharpton, Dr. Lamont Hill, and Kirsten Powers all stalwart democrats and liberals.
Several times a day I check in on the Drudge Report which is a compilation of news stories from many different sources; New York Times, New York Post, LA Times, The UK Guardian, Christian Science Monitor, and the Huffington Post (I think I've made my point).
On the weekend I listen to NPR with their array of "ex" democratic operatives. Catnip listen carefully and see if they ever say "the ex-secretary under {Reagan, Bush, Bush}".
Sometimes I channel surf to CNN or the local news.

Though I do have to say that I see a streak of ignorance in the reporting community on military matters. Misquotes and poor knowledge are common place.

Fox News of course...conservatives should feel more at home here, as Fox tends to be right of center....just like pretty much all other tv news outlets are left of center. Fox is definitely more balanced than any other....although I think CNN has gotten better over time.

For radio I usually listen to 980 a.m. in the mornings. The net... yahoo, and google, then sift through what I'm looking for.

Do you guys think 'Morning Joe' is liberal? I mean, the host of the show was a Republican Congressman and one of his panel (Pat Buchanan) ran for President as a conservative. It seems like the programming shifts from the right to the left during the day.

That depends on the type of news.

If you want a news channel that gives accurate reporting on the wars in the Middle East, turn to Fox News. I tend to steer away from Al Jazeera, Reuters, BBC, PBS, NPR and the Associated Press. I base this on experience. I've combat deployed to Iraq twice, and have found that Fox News comes closest to accurately reporting what's going on there.

I mean, Al Jazeera may try to paint a biased picture against us, but guess what? I've lost count of how much appreciation the Iraqis demonstrated towards us as we did our combat patrols through their streets.

I've also lost count of how many times brigade level and higher headquarter type units in Iraq posted press releases on their site, and released them, just to have them ignored by most the media.

For accurate weather reporting, I turn to accuweather.com. Joe Bastardi (sp) uses real science to explain what's really going on with the climate. Though his forecasts tend to contradict those of traditional weather forecasters, his forecasts have proven accurate over and over again… like this protracted winter that we just had, which was supposed to be "mild."

For world reporting, I use Fox, CNN, MSNBC, drudge, Newsmax (ignoring articles from most sites listed above), etc as jumping points, then goolgle search to research the "background" behind the news.

Want the best news? Talk to most of the people that are actually at the locations mentioned in the news.

NPR for radio news, NY Times for print news, NBC for tv news. Also scan the Yahoo homepage although I want to look into Lilianna's recommended POE-News.

Foreign news sources are more biased than their American counterparts, and they go a step further.

In most the US media, when there are major issues, problems, etc, they tend to blame a group that's in the US, whether that's the rich, one of the parties, or a certain organizational group. Overseas, they tend to emphasize the evils of the United States to turn their viewers' attentions away from problems going on at home.

Now, you're going to get more coverage on different countries, considering that most countries share borders with more than one country. But these are more regional than international.

Based on my debates and discussions with people in the US and those overseas... I've found a bigger ignorance on major issues like climate and geostratigic issues overseas than I've encountered here in the US. Foreigners also complain that we're not as "versed" in what's going on surrounding their countries. But, when I confront them with similar information about countries I've been to, that's not in their radar, they end up becoming the people they complain about.
