Would you take a trip to Sturgis for the Rally?

Enjoy your IronButt... I did one a couple years ago.. It was a Blast.. and Yes Your Butt will be sore ... I did 1049 miles in 17 hours and 45 min...

For Sturgis.. We take the Trailer and Haul Ass.. Leave about 4am, drive straight through with just stops to fill up the truck and stomach and empty the bladder... Just about sunset were pulling into the campground, set up the tents and Crash

I know all the serious bikers will call me a sissy but I trailered the Fat Boy up to within a couple hundred miles and rode the last little stretch.

Sorry, my ass just isn't built for that kind of abuse

I'm the same way guys.
I put them in the low hauler and ride in the truck in comfort.
But most of the time I have to go get my friends who ride there

I used to ride everywhere, but now the comfort and flexibility of towing makes a lot of sense for me. Once I get to where I am going - I put pleanty of miles in the seat.

I have a visit with a provider I have met a couple of times and I am going to ask her if she would be interested.

But you are all correct... This isn't a 4 star hotel in New York, this is a camping trip a party and world class motorcycle rides all wrapped into a week.

If a girl doesn't enjoy those things - no amount of money is going to make the experience enjoyable.
Buggs.. Hope you find a lady to take.. Enjoy the Rally..
I'll be up there.. I'll be the one on a Harley, wearing Jeans and a black t-shirt...
Buddy's wife let him go to Sturgis for a couple of years after he got himself a "Hog" a leather jacket, bandana and a bag of Rub On/Rub Off manly tattoos. Her tolerance came to a screeching halt when he ended up on one of those "Girls Gone Wild" type of tapes ogling and kissing some boobs that were hanging around and attached to someone other than her. Hog's collecting a lot of dust these days!

Then he needs to man up and take his balls back.
Amen... But then if He was the type to have Rub on Tattoos... He Really Never had any to begin with... Maybe he needs to trade the Harley for a Moped....

There's an old mining town NE of Albuquerque called Madrid. Hippies took it over in the late 60's and turned it into a commune, then a haphazard artists colony. Nowadays, in addition to tie-dyed everything, beer tab wind chimes and 60+ saggy-tittied hippie chicks with gray hair down to their collective haggard asses there's a bar there that attracts Harley's from Abuquerque and Santa Fe. As far as the eyes can see it Hell's CPA's & Attorneys! If you've ever seen the movie Wild Hogs you know the type! BTW, there's usually also a cadre of SUV's continaing concerned wives with First Aid kits, clean clothes, antacids, watchful eyes and (likely) an inflatable doughnut or two.

I am heading down to Austin for ROT this weekend. Not much luck finding a lady interested in the trip - but I will have fun anyway!
I experienced Sturgis for the first time last summer. I had a couple clients that frequent Denver mention it and that they thought I'd do great up there. A few days later I noticed on the local board that two guys were looking to cover the expenses for one lady to come up with them. I responded, assuming a bunch of ladies already had. Apparently I was the only one who PMd.

Lucky me because I went up there and had a super great time. Mind you, I flew in on a puddle jumper and had no reception (I had a big-city-diva meltdown when I landed, just glad to be alive lol). But I went to Sturgis and hung around, ate some great food, did a photo shoot on a bike with some Kentucky hillbillies drinking moonshine (you think I'm making this up?), and had a generally fun and relaxing time. I visited Deadwood, took my first bike ride, and ate and read at my hotel in RC in my down time.

Needless to say, I'm heading back this year, under a slightly different arrangement but definitely excited to see the Rally and ride some, ahem, Harleys! ;-)

XOXO
