Yes, the rates have increased substantially. Some providers have even raised their rates when they aren’t getting any younger or smaller. But they can charge whatever they want - they’ll have to figure out why their business has decreased if the market doesn’t support their rates.

They charge by the services and experiences they offer, the clientele they cater to and what the market bears. Just like you have options of where you wish to shop, we have options of which type of client we choose to appeal and market to.
And unless you're a provider, how can you speak about whether a provider's business has decreased or increased? I love when a man speculates about our productivity as if he's a fly on the wall. Vaguely amusing. Genius level amusing.
