That's generally not how it works. Unless you're getting tested for each and every STD, it won't show up. Ask your doctor and confirm you're getting STD testing, and ask which STDs are included in the test.

I actually take a biologic for arthritis and a full panel is done every 6 weeks. While I'm there I ask to get std tested as well. Because I'm there.

The gonnorhea virus is nearly untreatable with antibiotics and soon will become the next herpes virus. HPV can be contracted orally and not only causes genital warts, but is the number 1 cause of cervical cancer in women. It even causes throat cancer if you can believe that (You are what you eat). Even if you can't explain to your wife the phone call from the Kansas City Free Health Clinic, you'd be better off than explaining to her the herpes infection or genital warts she now has for the rest of her life.
