The judge who issued the warrant should also be held responsible for not verifying what will turn out to be lies.
Tragic but easily avoidable.

The judge who signed the warrant was a Houston Municipal court judge. What's the most they hear? Traffic citations and misdemeanor BS like PI or simple prostitution? Any criminal charges of real consequence are going to be referred to Harris County or higher.
It should be a Judge who understands the impact of something like this and in my opinion should be at least a tribunal if it's going to be allowed at all. Certainly not a judge who got an appointment to adjudicate truancy violations...
