Dinner date with mom sounds like she squeezed in another appointment before you.

If the tables were turned and you told HER to wait 15 minutes (for 2 hours) do you think she'd approve? I highly doubt it.
I too have waited hours and it's infuriating to say the least. When you're in a hotel parking lot or in front of her residence, minutes feel like hours. Whether suspicious or not, knowing that nefarious goings on are about to happen just adds to the stress.

I'm to the age now where I don't give a shit; I will wait 15 minutes and bail with a "we'll try again another time". That either speeds up the "dinner with mom" or sets the tone for the next time. I've also found that the stress of waiting for more than 15-20 minutes ruins my mood so I won't do it.

I love the "mom" excuse. It's as ubiquitous as needing to pay the "phone bill"

That's really good advice ... setting the tone for the next encounter. With you guys's help, I'll eventually grow a pair and start complaining when I should be.

Very unprofessional. I had been chatting with her for a bit waiting for an opportunity for a first meeting. Finally our schedules synced and we started making plans. I dont think so. It was a very out of the blue text...we were not discussing donation at the time. But if so, thats a shame. I wanted to meet her......just did not want to be involved in some drama.
