BTW, I think it way more important to honor the living. We honor the living and dead with the truth. Not some verbiage that makes you feel better because you are not comfortable enough to confront the facts.

Should we do/say nothing and keep honoring the dead with words without actions?.......
Or should we have a debate and save us from having to continue to honor brave dead soldiers?

How many funerals have you been to btw of dead soldiers in the last few years? My guess is I have been to more than you. Please do not try and lecture me on honor. I will not question yours as long as you do so in kind.

I am sick of seeing dead soldiers come home like this. I want the debate. I welcome the debate. I will not run from this debate. I choose to honor my country in this manner. If you think that is stepping over the line , then I am sorry, we just do not agree on this issue.

AND THIS is how we honor our fallen.

An American airstrike has killed the Taliban insurgents who shot down the helicopter that crashed Saturday in the deadliest single incident of the Afghan war, the top U.S. commander there said Wednesday.
Marine Gen. John Allen, briefing reporters at the Pentagon via satellite video link, said special operators had been able to trace the band of fighters who fired the rocket-propelled grenade at the CH-47 Chinook, and an Air Force F-16 killed them by putting "ordnance on target" at around midnight on Monday.

And you guys need to get the stick out of your ass.
Conversations don't naturally stay in a linear focus.
We're not debating the actions of the soldiers. We're not like the WBC picketing funerals and saying G-d did this as punishment for gays (which I really just don't get how those things correlate anyway..)
If you don't like a post, hit the RTM and get over yourself.

I once heard US military doctrine summed up as, "never send a man where you can send a shell". I hope the political leadership (both civilian and in uniform) learned a lesson from this tragedy and starts sending shells instead of more men.

Letting our so called "allies" in Kabul write the ROE is even worse than letting our so called leaders in Washington write them.

RIP, gentle souls.

RIP Team.
Without getting into the politics, as I try to avoid the drama here, but may they all R.I.P knowing the sacrifice will not be forgotten.

BTW, I quit counting funerals and memorials after it reached the double digits!
