I was in communication with a young provider today and her reaction was that this entire phenomenon is nothing but pure bullshit, that seasonal flu is a more deadly killer every year, and that none of it matters in the slightest. And I'm sure she isn't alone in those beliefs.
Nevermind that 1 in 5 now require time in a hospital and that the sheer number of those afflicted people could skyrocket in a short period of time if we aren't careful to avoid it, overwhelming all the hospital resources currently available. What will the mortality figures look like then? We only have to look at Italy for some indication.
We're taking precautions to avoid imploding our healthcare system. How many young people can appreciate that? We should, instead, throw caution to the wind, bang some young hottie, without regard to the fact that we could be killing her grandparent or her elderly neighbor?
We can safely get past this another way, and let our elderly pass away eventually from more natural causes. And, by the way, 40+% of those under 54 and over 20 are severely adversely affected by this virus. Kids in their 20s, dying of pneumonia? I don't need to see that.
