Thoughts on Deposits

If I ask for a deposit, these are the circumstances and the why I feel it's warranted.

If they " no showed" on the past appt and want to book again. I ask for a 25% deposit.
(Self explanatory for why)

If its for more than an hour sesh. (I don't typically have first time clients asking for 2 hr+ sessions. Its my way of feeling out the legitimacy of their appt)

If its over 4 hrs since the time of booking (this is for new clients because men are pretty in the moment. Sometimes the moment gets handled and they no longer feel the need)

If they want early bird appt. Reason, if Im waking up at 5 am to get ready for you and you don't show, I'm a little cranky.

Any over night appt and out of town appts. (Self explanatory)
I don't do enough or charge enough to warrant a deposit, but I know plenty who have 2, 3, 4 hour minimum rates and require a deposit.

Whatever works...
Curious about y'all's thoughts on deposits. Providers do you require deposits on all appointments? Or only under certain circumstances?
Gentlemen, your thoughts on paying deposits. Or being asked to pay a deposit.
Under what circumstances do you feel they're warranted vs. a possible scam?

Im curious how y'all feel about this rather sensitive topic.
Now,I know there are a ton of scams out there and it pisses me off that because of that it makes any provider look as though she's a shady person for asking. But I'm also very tired of no shows and last minute cancellations. I think I've finally found the comfy middle ground that seems to work for me, however, I've also discovered that for the men who are truly straight up about showing up,they dont seem to have an issue paying. The one's who refuse and get salty, I've come to see as time wasters. And for the one's who claim they can't have a "paper trail" i dunno, I'm on the fence about them.
So I was just curious about your opinions. Originally Posted by MissK70116

I'm not talking about Hobby payments, but other things. A money order left blank also leaves no trail back to the buyer, only the one cashing.

Not trying to encourage paying anyone up front, but there are several ways to do so discreetly.

Any playtime we attempt that begins with mistrust by either party, probably isn't worth proceeding with. JMO

Does that mean when ladies requests deposits we should request face exposed ass, kitty, and titty pics? Asking for a friend who’s about to pay a deposit........
