I think whats interesting is that half the steak houses mentioned in this thread were all started or assisted by Dale Wamstad, the original founder of Del Frisco's double eagle steakhouse.

He directly formed Del Frisco's, followed by III Forks, and assisted or helped Bob's steak & chop house get started. then moved later to Texas Restaurant in Richardson/Plano area, it was supposedly won in a poker game. . Its technically a dinner house, but as with every other restaurant started and owned by Dale Wamstad, its service and food is top notch. Dale's real claim to fame and wealth is years ago he bought a huge swath of land located on the southeast corner of George Bush tollway and Interstate 75, now home to places like State Farm and a ton of shopping centers, apartments, and his Texas Restaurant, etc.

Just a little bit of history in Dallas Steakhouses.

Now, I'm going to go eat dinner. LOL.

MJ69 - interesting post. A few years back III Forks was awesome but has fallen. Agree with the folks on Pappa Bros - completely blown away a few months back. Bob's in GV or Lemmon Ave... hard to beat. Another one not on the list yes - Nick and Sam's... what can you say.

Then again - find a nice slice of USDA Prime and fire up the Traeger.....

Pappas Bros. Steak House, the only dry aged steaks in DFW, great wine list and impressive library of top shelf spirits.

Perry's is a close second, more on the menu including bison and wygu (sic). Open for Friday lunch with 2 rib pork chop special.

Try Knife Dallas 240 days dry aged rib eye. Knife Dallas is much better than Pappas.

Yep, quite a few places have dry aged steaks. Pappas has perhaps the largest collection, but you see them even at non-steak places.
