Cancel Student debt !

A good first step.

Followed by Single Payor Federal Health Insurance for all.

Then Free Childcare.

Then Free College Tuition.

That should get some Trickle Up going on as opposed to Republican trickle down bullshit.

Then proceed to ;

1.Outlaw chokeholds
2.Do away with extended immunity for LE
3.Create a Federal LE Oversight Agency to track and discipline deaths and excessive use of force by LE.

That should do for a start !!
I'd go along with limited immunity for congressional butts like Schiff well before any dumb thing for police

the answer is not found in creating a cycle of government loans, huge college fees and bills supporting ever greater salaries and benefits, followed by ever greater debt forgiveness by that same government
the cycle needs to be broken, not made worse Originally Posted by nevergaveitathought

When the government got in the business of guaranteeing mortgage loans and student loans they incentivized the lending industry to loan money out to just about anyone for any reason. A situation that Big Banks look upon favorably.

It just got worse when bankruptcy laws were changed to limit the ability for people to start over after any kind of disaster.

Alexander Fraser Tytler quotes Showing 1-4 of 4

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.”

“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy...”

What if a soldier decided that they didn't want to honor their contract with the military? If a student can walk away, shouldn't a soldier be allowed to walk away?

That's funny.
Only 27% of college grads use their degree to get a job. The Federal Government backs 80% of the loans meaning they pay off the loans of 1.5 trillion dollars and the money goes to Universities and Colleges who are one of the largest contributors to the Democratic party.
