I was buying something at a Dollar General one evening, I asked the
female cashier how she was doing. She mentioned she was really hungry,
that her manager would not let her leave to get food and that she was working a second shift straight because her replacement never showed up.

I walked around the corner and returned with a big plate of food I bought her. She was so happy and thanked me. Next time I came in, she gave me a discount. I didn't say anything but I consider what happened to her to be a form of trafficking.

It's likely she was trafficked, or Amazon has bought out Dollar General.

Maybe the hotel operator is just trying to make extra $$$ by sending bands.

A friend of mine managed a Family Dollar and worked 14 hours days, but he was salaried management so I guess he was the one doing the trafficking LOL

Common sense definitions and legal definitions vary widely on many things. My common sense tells me if you’re being forced, by threat of harm, to work/provide services for no/little pay and you’re not free to quit, then you’re enslaved. I think “trafficking” is the added dimension of being forcefully and regularly transported to different (likely unfamiliar) geographic regions to avoid detection and make escape less likely.
I think the confusion with prostitution comes from the large intersection of the 2 activities. Prostitutes that happen to be trafficking victims. Not all prostitutes are trafficked and not all trafficking victims are prostituted.
