Yup. 2A is the Sword of Damocles that hangs over the heads of all elected officials. So naturally they do everything in their power to insulate themselves from it. There's a reason "may issue" states seem to almost exclusively give concealed carry licenses to their politicians - to create a class divide and help them carry out their aristocratic fantasies.
