JR,
Leo can not get into a rental car reservation system without warrent for a specific person and have a specific reason.
Having Illinois plates in Alaska is not a reason.
Let alone fishing for data? Nope.

This is why leo trys to hammer hotels, when fishing.

JR there's numourous settled lawsuits on these issues and you are wrong.

If a license plate reader hits a car that the guest visitor owns. That's a direct link to rw.

Your hospital story is not valid for this discussion. Of course exigent circumstances will open files. But those situations do not involve hobby.

There is a lot of information that the police get by just by request, sometimes by a simple phone call. In my example it was just a telephone request to the rental company that told them who the guy was, and everything the rental company had.

I offer the suggestion: most people want to cooperate, in every way, with the police; it is more than you would believe. They can always ask! Only a few, so very few, will say no.

That must scare you.
