Yes, Kroger allowed them to enter. Do you honestly think some 20 year old kid is going to stop a group of armed people from entering? That's a whole level of "Karen" that most don't want to deal with.
I've had my CHL for well over a decade at this point. I've always found it ridiculously stupid to open carry-- not only are you telling the "bad guys" who to target first... you're also not considering that LE isn't always aware of who the good guys are. Can't remember the country star that happened to be at the Las Vegas mass shooting who said that he was glad that he wasn't carrying that day-- simply because he knew the cops wouldn't be able to easily distinguish the good guys from the bad guys.

#2: "Having" a CHL is really not a benefit. Kinda like having a driver's license. Daily while driving I see untold number of folks who don't know the meaning of a red light or what is safe following and safe lane changing, not to mention what those speed limit signs with a big number in the middle mean. Perhaps they don't have a driver's license after all (or shouldn't have one!).
#3: I am glad the "country star" wasn't "carrying" also. I guess anyone "carrying" (including cops) couldn't have done much at all to stop the "Vegas mass shooting" ... for any number of reasons, but the primary one is ... exactly what do you think they could have done to stop it since you have a "CHL"?
As an aside, it appears that with the new phase of armed idiots, who can't even drive a motor vehicle consistent with traffic laws and readily apparent safety, it will be necessary to start "carrying" regularly to protect myself.
