insurrection is a funny thing. the u.s. constitutions is kind of contradictory on this subject.

the closest thing to the insurrection was the american civil war, but that was a different kind of fight. a fight to leave the union.

the constitution is silent on a situation of an insurrection that leads to a coup of a illegitimate govt or tyrannical govt.
