For further clarification, Lori Lightfoot is a DNC nominee for Mayor in Chicago. I forget sometimes that not everyone on this board is not in Texas.

In Texas it would seem that Mayoral candidates do not have a specific party affiliation. This was news to me when I moved here, as even the small town I grew up in in IL had a Republican Mayor. Originally Posted by GastonGlock

That being said, they do have policy and issue opinions that one would associate with being a part of a major political party, or are endorsed by people who are members of major political parties.
