Please reread the original quote; it does not say more than one roundround...the "count" actually starts at 20 and is undefined. Not arguing gun rights per se, but am pointing out hysterical hyperbole by zealots. The are a lot of "guns" already illegal for most private citizens. Big difference between limitations (some exist today) and outright ban. Obfuscation at its finest.

There will be no ban, maybe high capacity mags like a while back. It doesn't matter how many rounds a mag holds, someone could just go buy ten mags. It takes what 2 seconds to change mags... Talk of gun bans are just GOP fear mongering. Best can do is plug loopholes in private gun sale background checks. Criminals will get guns no matter any laws.

I was just being sarcastic about one round, 10,20 it doesn't matter. It isn't up to Joe Biden to determine the number of Rounds a Firearm is capable of Firing. Under a pressing situation even a well trained person's accuracy will suffer, multiple rounds maybe quite necessary.

Big inflammatory leap in "logic" there. The Biden quote clearly questions the need for weapons that can fire multiple rounds of some undefined number starting at 20. The quote does not support an intent to ban all handguns. Originally Posted by reddog1951

A lesson to Dilbert and others on how to parse a sentence:

"The idea you need a weapon that can have the ability to fire 20, 30, 40, 50, 120 shots from that weapon, whether it’s a, whether it’s a 9mm pistol or whether it’s a rifle, is ridiculous.”

Now get rid of the section in parentheses and you have:

"The idea you need a weapon that can have the ability to fire 20, 30, 40, 50, 120 shots from that weapon.....is ridiculous.”

That is the fundamental message of the sentence.

The section in parentheses "Whether it’s a, whether it’s a 9mm pistol or whether it’s a rifle" is a qualifying clause applicable to the subject of the sentence of which it is part; in this case, high capital weapons. Neither handguns, nor rifles, are the subject of the sentence.

What’s it matter the capacity if nobody can afford ammo. Been a while since I’ve fired anything besides rimfire, and even that’s high these days. The CCI minimags that my SR22 and 10/22 both like are $.12-15 per round. Forget spending a couple range hours with 223 unless you don’t mind blowing a couple hundred.
