As the hotel guest, I would have demanded a manager on the spot and let him/her have hell. Totally inappropriate behavior by this security person, and I would hazard a violation of the guest's rights as a visitor of the hotel. Lacking sufficient cause for stopping you two, and without resolution of the situation by the manager, I would have packed up immediately and left the hotel and told them to shove the bill (and let the credit card agency know it is a disputed charge if it stays on).ditto!
