Republican clown show continues day 2

The Republicans have a slim majority in the house. They are not going to be able to get anything at all passed, no matter if it is the best piece of legislation ever, because they do not have the Senate or the Presidency. Originally Posted by snoopy75

Here's another question, why are you libs so concerned about the workings of the other party?

I don't see Rs commenting on the election denier you decided upon to be the minority leader.

No matter who is elected nothing is going to get done, so your interest has to be in getting the friendliest speaker you can get, and the 20 people screwing McCarthy are doing it to prevent exactly that.

I guess actual conservative conservatives scare the shit out of you.

That said, the entire GOP voted in lock-step for 4 yrs under Trump. There was no 20 something votes for anything he didn't say. What reason that is, I don't have the foggiest idea, but it's true. It just is showing up poorly at this point in the house, and on TV. Funny though, not many stations outside of FOX is really shaming the GOP. FOX is though and saying they are essentially disgusted by a few of the RINOs throwing a tantrum. Leftists realize it's just leveraging Kevin McCarthy and he will ultimately be the next speaker, but it's certainly interesting in watching to dogma of FOX and the clown show going on. Fox has so much said "they need to get this done so we can get into the investigations."

I don't think this Congress is gonna get shit done if the intention is to follow the instructions of FOX news and the Hoover Institute. It will end up just like every other investigation we've seen over the past 12 yrs.

Maybe there should be some serious limitations on what the speaker can do? I never saw much good in one person deciding on what bills can be voted on or heard. You can always vote no, but why not hear the language of them regardless?

It's probably the biggest fuckup that our Congress has as a function.

A great day for the extremist in the Republican party:

Last 24 hours: Rudy sued for sexual harassment, male staffer says he was groped by Matt Schlapp, Kilmeade called Freedom Caucus insurrectionists, Hannity attacked Boebert, Ali called MTG a whore, McCarthy fails again, and again, and again, and again, and again, Mace called Gaetz a fraud, Loomer called MTG Benedict Arnold.

Does anyone think things are going to improve?

I hope not, it’s awesome. Congressmen routinely got into fist fights, several times turning into bench clearing brawls, in bygone days when we still had actual representation, rather than a bunch of crooks waiting for the next envelope filled with cash. Potter and Washburn, both Wisconsin Rs iirc, ripped a guy’s toupee off and threw it out the window in one famous knock-down-drag-out in the mid 1800s. This is what we need in politics. Fuck decorum, passion FTW!
