Not being that computer literate, how does a 'proxy' work? Sounds like something I could use.

It's basically a mask for your computer that says it's JoeSchmo256 instead of bartipero, it's an IP address that's not the one of your computer, but you can use to make your computer look like another one on the internet.

A proxy is something that stands in for something else. In the case of computers, the proxy server helps you go to a Web site anonymously.

So if a Web site is blocked, you instead go to the proxy server (which is not blocked) and tell that computer to send it to you. It is kind of like when your mom wouldn't let you go to the comic book store, so you gave the money to your best friend and he went for you.

Outside of computers, proxies are used for many things. When you can't make it to a meeting (like a shareholders meeting) you can designate someone as your proxy to vote for you. You can even get married by proxy, for example when one spouse is away in the military.

Just checking in to say that I'm doing alright, things get pretty hairy around here but I'm doing alright just wish I could get a good night of sleep without it being interrupted but oh well such is life I guess. Anyways, just thought I'd stop in and say hi they have ridiculously shitty wifi here I mean seriously it took almost 4 minutes for eccie to load up I was thinking of just closing it out but just stuck with it. Also, not being a premium member sucks ass if you guys didn't know all those reviews I want to read the ROS and I can't...alrighty hope everyone is doing well and I'll see if I can't swing by on here a couple more times before I head out again.
