Have they 'gone broke' though?

being woke and going broke is not just about for profits

its why illinois is a mess and people are fleeing california and new york

and why san francisco is actually going broke with hotels being turned over to lenders and businesses are shuttering, why people in los angeles can no longer depend on the legal system

and why the public schools in many instances are in trouble

they are woke and people vote with their feet

but yes, outfits like disney are suffering

All big cities are following suit with wokeness. Liberalism kills democracy.

If Liberalism kills democracy then the solution would be let Republicans rule which would then uphold democracy? That doesn't make any sense.

Saying that Dems are all basically socialists would be as incorrect as labeling all right wingers fascists.

I do believe you are onto something with your explanation of what 'woke' means to the people who use it regularly. I believe that a primary dysfunction of both parties is the attempt to denounce the wants and needs of the other. We are all citizens of the same government with the same rights and expectations of freedom as the other.

No taxation without representation. It doesn't mean everyone gets what they want but the foundation of our government is absolutely based on we the people not enforcing a political agenda just because an election went one way or the other. Both sides are guilty. Neither side can see the need for change. So we remain divided at our own expense.

I'll just say from my professional experience that the "woke" companies I've had as clients care just as much about their bottom line as those that don't give a shit so I can't think of any large companies that fucked themselves by going overboard with wokenessitis.

I had a particular client years ago that wouldn't even let you print paper in their home office, yet they were in the restaurant industry netting billions of dollars a year in revenue by peddling the unhealthiest shit to anyone around the world trying to get diabetes. I remember thinking, "You clowns picked trees (climate) as your social cause? That kind of makes sense because you obviously can't pick morbid obesity or healthcare as one."

Anyway, that was just one client, and I could go on and on about other clients that "fake it to make it". The aforementioned client in the paragraph above didn't give a fuck about trees, that was just a bullshit social cause just like many of those that my other "woke" clients adopted.

Mr. My Pillow was dumb enough to pick Trump as his social cause. Lindell is definitely not "woke". He is just definitely an idiot. He picked wrong by putting his money where his mouth was and that's why his company ended up in complete disarray.

The moral of the story is if you want to act like you care about the betterment of society, always pick something people don't really give a shit about so your business is unaffected.

For me I see green when it comes to business. Efficiency is a goal so $$ per unit to be more eco-friendly compared to $ for the standard method I am going with the cost effective solution. If part of my market are people I don't agree with on a personal level their money spends just as well as mine. You make a great point. People often tend to pick a crusade that doesn't cost them much.

When a company gets bomb threats, death threats to their staff, and finds the workplace becoming toxic because people are upset that they cater to a wide variety of cusomters it doesn't cost the crusaders. They just blame it on radicals.

and a proper regard for the words of the constitution where the written word and the original intent at the time of adoption controls until properly amended...otherwise if its changeable by whim no one is secure in any reliance of law or its protection

those things protect us all and only short-thinking power mad hotheads who want some idiotic "democracy" because they just won an election want to do away with these protections

The Barbie movie has brought big profits and inspired millions to dress up and head out to theaters. Less than 2 weeks in release it is making a push towards $1 billion in box office revenue.

Prior to release Fox News had this take:

https://www.foxnews.com/media/barbie...vie-site-warns

How much would it have made if that 'core audience' had been included?

Again the numbers indicate anything but 'going broke' yet the chants continue...

Today we will again hear the chants "GO WOKE GO BROKE" and certainly those opposed to Bud Light producing a commemorative beer can with the image of someone they hate on it have made an impact.

Some decided to run over their beer, others decided to shoot at it. Their tantrums absolutely caused a reaction. Death threats. Bomb threats. The targeting of people who had nothing to do with the actual creation of that oh so offensive aluminum beverage container. Shame. Definitely shame as there are now many people in the queer community who will be unwilling to participate in individual recognition.

For those of us who continue to hear 'Go Woke Go Broke!' as a publicly palatable way to say 'Get back in the closet. Freak' I say cheers. Tonight the Bud Light will be cold and refreshing. I drink to freedom!

The saying is not "Go woke, Gone broke". It's a process, colloquially known as a death spiral and it's fun to watch. For example: I wonder what all is for sale these days at the Disney garage sale. Originally Posted by Why_Yes_I_Do

  • Wait times at parks for Jul 4th was 27 minutes, from 47 minutes in 2019

"They" are saying that attendance at the Disney parks is way down. The story I read blamed it on the weather citing "Climate Change" but . . .there it is.

Another story said that attendees were asked to wear "pronoun pins" to indicate how the park goers identify.

No links, sorry.
