Texas THC ban

I lived in TX for 15 years and always marveled at the power that the good people of Texas have allowed their state government to have. You basically have a Dictatorship as there are no term limits on the Governor or Lt. Governor offices.
Those in power seem to obtain great wealth while in office, (see Rick Perry for an example).
Texas does not allow statewide citizen-initiated ballot measures or referendums. "They" will make the decisions for you as to what they consider appropriate.
Very business friendly environment as there are no state corporate income taxes. That frees up money for generous campaign donations.

This is a priority if Lt. Gov. Patric. He’s the churchy wing of Texas republicans. And let’s face it, Republicans for the most part are very anti-libertarian these days.

House members are nervous as the church group ran against and defeated a number of rural conservative in the primary who voted not to destroy rural public schools by voting against school vouchers. Sober minded R’s are running scared.

I know a few who were beaten last cycle and one who won who beat a well funded opponent. They’re not antagonizing the Lt. Governor on such a peripheral issue. Especially since next cycle is a Presidential year.
