Question: Why's it OK to use the military to overthrow Maduro but not Saddam Hussein? To pay for genocide in Gaza but not defense in Europe?
I’ve been thinking on this question for a while now and reading up on others takes on Trump’s foreign policy agenda but I can’t determine if Trump has a coherent foreign policy view or not.
It seems that his viewpoint is centered around a belief that other nations are trying to screw us in some shape or form and that the response to each country is based upon his own personal belief and nothing else.
In other words nothing he does can be understood except when filtered through Trump’s dementia riddled brain.

Maybe he actually wants to do deals with Venezuela and Iran, and he’s using a similar strategy with them as he did with his vendors when he was a businessman. Push them to the breaking point and then throw them a bone. I’m not a fan of using this method with nations or creditors, but admittedly it helps Trump achieve his desired ends from time to time.
