Every other time was an understanding or a police action but we ended up calling them wars. Anyone who wants to belabor the use is a lawyer or a democrat.

As for the objective...that's been made pretty clear several times, no nukes for Islam terrorists, no threats to the United States, no supporting terrorism.

Maybe you forgot but probably you never knew, if congress actually votes for WAR then the president gets more powerful. They don't want that and a lot of them would not vote for WAR. However, if that war powers vote had gone the other way last week, the congress could have ordered that all the ships and planes disperse or return home.
