Earthquakes typically present themselves in clusters though we may not feel most of them because of their small intensity. The New Madrid fault located in the area around southeast Missouri, northeast Arkansas, and southwest Tennessee is a very intense zone of activity. Seismologists do not use the word "if", they use the word "when" this fracture powers up the earthquakes they will be very powerful and the timeframe is in the next 60 years. I believe I saw one quote that there is a 93% chance of a major earthquake in the next 60 years. By major, they said at least a 7.5 in the immediate area and in excess of a 5 or 6 in Kansas City and St. Louis. You can imagine the damage around the downtown of Kansas City. I have seen one area wall that cracked that day a couple of weeks ago. Always a good idea to have some extra food, water, immediate medical supplies, an electric generator, fuel, and some firepower to protect the above.
