I'm thankful to all the members serving in the US military, those who have served honorably, and especially to my Marine son who was just deployed over seas and will miss Thanksgiving and Christmas with his family.
I'd like to thank those rough men written about in a quote often misattributed to George Orwell. "People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf," Not exactly what he said, but close enough.
Happy Thanksgiving to the lovely ladies here!
Also to my fellow turkeys who hope to be devoured by one of the same lovely ladies!
My family will continue to host a few men and women of the Armed Forces. This year we are honored to have a Lieutenant from Fort Hood with three of his squad. We also have two coming in from Sheppard Air Force Base! We are truly thankful for their service and welcome them into our home as family!
I can't stay out of this one. I can't complain, but sometimes I still do. Life's been good to me so far....
Except for our politicians, over paid athletes, crooked bankers; well the list is endless.
I am really thankful for a group of honest, respectful, open-minded and 'got your back' people like yourselves. (obviously, each of us knows those few exceptions)
A very Happy Thanksgiving to all the amazing folks who share this alternate reality with me, to those who serve far from home so the rest of us can enjoy this holiday with our families and friends, and mostly to my immediate family, may they all Rest in Peace. I miss them all so much - please enjoy your family if you have them to celebrate with, as they may be gone all to soon.
