I wonder if this is increasing in a soft economy? As has been said repeatedly, this is a business, and should be treated as one. If your customer decides to shop elsewhere, it is likely because he was not getting something he wanted at your store....and you cannot blame the other store's owner!

Lana's store rocks, just saying...

Yes MM, you are right, BUT, there is no excuse not to give a reference!

If the lady wants to contact the gentleman and ask him to see her instead, I totally understand.....that's between the 2 of them! Originally Posted by Lana Warren

Lana,

This a very good subject. I pride myself on being VERY reference friendly. My email is sent via message to my cell phone, so I'm notified when I receive one. If it's a reference request, I'm on it. IMMEDIATELY. Normally, with in five minutes, with good information from the lady on the gent... HE's verified. I'm not saying that every provider should be like this... but yes, I've had the "Sorry, just got your message" TWO days later line too. It's ridiculous. Our safety and money depend on reliable references. I've had some guys come back and say, "Well, I just heard back from so and so, she's offering me 50 off if I come see her, but want you, will you beat her price?" WTF?!!?!?!?! Are you f'g kidding me? Do I look like Walmart and take Competitor ads. We will match the price slogan? NO. Go see her. I refuse to haggle over rates. If someone does that, it makes it very hard to be romantic with soemone who wants to borrow your body for an hour, use every hole in it, and then still have the nerve to say, "You're not worth that price" before even trying it out. Ladies, the reference thing is getting out of hand. I'm pretty sure that Versace a few months ago wrote about this very same thing. It's not going away obviously. The girls need to realize that for every ONE girl, there are 20 hobbyist. I've had pm's from the hobbyist saying how thankful they were for the wonderful reference and that they would like to reschedule with me for doing so. Men appeciate the reference. After all ladies, We are NOT married to them. They like variety. That's why they hobby. That's why we ALL have jobs. It's a candy store of pussy on here... and some days they want generic, store brand, or brand name. Go with the flow, and help each other out. We will all be happier, safer, and nicer people.

I even recently had it re-confirmed that as soon as she'd hear from me, she'd be on the phone trying to get them to see her. Maybe she got a few of my potential clients from that type of bullshit, but not many that I'm aware of.

I guess I've been lucky that I've never had a guy tell me that she or any other girl offered X amount of dollars -would I drop my rate or match hers - so on and so forth.

Maybe cuz most guys already knew, especially back then if they brought her name into it - I'd drag both of them through some shit on the boards for doing something like that to me. That's some shady ass bullshit for sure. A phrase from a Madden xbox commentary with Darren Sharper comes to mind..."Fuck with me..."

As for the ladies who are non-reference friendly, cock blockers, and under bidders....I think there are a variety of reasons for their actions and non-actions, and unfortunately, most of them are self serving. (I say most, not all) The gents who give in to them just make it easier for them to continue these unacceptable behaviors.

Please remember to ask a lady if she is reference friendly before using her as one to make an appointment. I think we've all experienced this issue and it does become aggravating. I don't get it. Then again....I like to share! Sharing is caring! Ladies.....I'm ref friendly and will also get back with you ASAP! Continue to hobby safe!!

I don't think its anything new or economy based, this has happened before when the hobby was rocking hard, along with the economy. Some providers get possessive of their clients, especially the long-term ones. Its a combination of customer service concerns, some think that going to see others is a possible issue with their services, others just don't like to share.

So its not a new issue... I will say that if a provider does not provide a reference for me and I get wind of it, I will bring it up with her as that is part of the deal we rely on. If it happens more than once, I have been known to stop seeing them for that reason based on the logic that if I do reviews and help spread the word on their qualities, they should return that via references. Quid Pro Quo.

[in one post] So, in my opinion, the only reason would be jealousy!

it happens. i wouldnt spend any energy attempting to figure out why she didnt respond. just like i dont spend any energy attempting to figure out why a woman does or doesnt respond to my request for an appt.

==> pmd: M A X, RIGHT ON!!! in my opinion/from myview of the world, if one gets a response back, great. if one doesnt, great. receiving or not receiving a response is not the end of the world, on a man's or a woman's side.

my suggestion - just breathe, shake your head, and move on.

and while this is a business/income stream to some, still, one non-response should NOT end your business. the last in a string of multiples might be the straw that helps you decide to "hang up your heels", but then there are probably other issues to deal with.

peace be with you all!!! today and every day of your life.

Providers need to rely on each other to make sure of their safety and that of their clients in this business. I too write reviews sometimes to let fellow hobbyists know that a provider is the real deal and well worth the time. And I have had providers not respond to my appt requests, but don't worry about cause like others have said there are lots of choices in DFW, someone for everyone's taste.

Providers that don't look at my profile or don't respond to my requests are their loss not mine. If you don't check me out like I do you I get a little concerned about what might happen if I show up.
